Overview

A small double-lidded jewelry box in purple-dyed hanji, its lid alive with mother-of-pearl butterflies — the rarest colorway of the hanji butterfly series.

Heritage & Craft

Purple was a noble, sparingly used dye in old Korea, and layered mulberry paper wears it with a soft matte depth. The butterflies — wishes of joy and love — are individually cut from natural nacre, their iridescence cool against the regal ground.
