Overview

Consider a mother-of-pearl pen and pencil holder featuring the Butterfly motif, handmade in Korea. It keeps pens, brushes, and desk tools upright and close to hand while anchoring a workspace with quiet artistry.

Heritage & Craft

The butterfly (나비, nabi) is a beloved Korean symbol of joy, conjugal love, and transformation. Najeonchilgi (나전칠기) is the centuries-old Korean art of inlaying iridescent mother-of-pearl into layered ottchil lacquer entirely by hand, a craft kept alive in Korea's specialist workshops.

Artisan

This piece is the work of Korean master artisan Oh Myung-ho, whose hand-finishing gives it its individual character.
