Overview
A handcrafted Korean najeonchilgi bandaji-style drawer jewelry chest decorated with the peacock design in hand-inlaid natural mother-of-pearl.
Heritage & Craft
The peacock is a Korean emblem of beauty, dignity and good fortune, often chosen for wedding and heirloom pieces. In najeonchilgi, slivers of natural shell are cut and set into the lacquer by hand, so every piece is slightly different.
Artist
Made by Jang Tae-bok, as noted by the workshop.
