This double-lidded plum blossom jewelry box in red lacquer carries plum blossoms in hand-inlaid mother-of-pearl, opening to a fitted tray over a deeper well.

Heritage & Craft

The plum (maehwa) blooms through the last snow — Korea's sign of courage and early spring. Set over warm red lacquer rather than the customary black, the nacre petals read festive rather than austere: a resilience blessing in celebration colors.
