Najeon Chilgi Mother of Pearl Business Card Case — Plum Blossom

Overview

A slim najeon chilgi business card case with a plum-blossom branch inlaid in mother-of-pearl across the lid. The hand-cut nacre glows against black lacquer, shifting in tone as it moves through the light. Sized to hold a stack of standard cards in a pocket or bag.

Heritage & Craft

The plum blossom (매화, maehwa) opens in the last snows of winter, making it Korea's emblem of perseverance and quiet integrity — the first of the Four Gentlemen of classical painting. Set in najeonchilgi, the centuries-old craft of inlaying iridescent shell into ottchil lacquer, the motif turns an everyday object into a small statement of character.
